She might be one of the more subtle and elegant Hollywood stars, but that doesn't mean that she can't make an impact.
Freida Pinto stole the show at the opening of the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles on Tuesday in an attention-grabbing red dress and gold stilettos.
The 28-year-old wore her dark hair sleek and straight as she posed on the red carpet ahead of the premiere of Gangs of Wasseypur.

The Indian actress, who shot to fame in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire, made sure that she put in an appearance to support her country's filmmaking talent.

And the star certainly didn't blend into the crowd at the high-profile event, ensuring that all eyes were on her in the elegant asymmetrical dress, which had a ruffled panel across the front.
Continuing her red theme, she painted her toenails in the same dramatic hue, offsetting the metallic gold of her towering shoes.

She held a small matching clutch bag and kept her make-up minimal, leaving all of the focus on the show-stopping outfit.
The Trishna star kept her dark hair sleek and straight, showing of a newly cut side fringe which she parted in the middle.
Freida, who has been dating her Slumdog co-star Dev Patel for more than four years, seemed to be flying solo for the event, but looked as relaxed as ever.

Mumbai-born Freida has been together with her 22-year-old beau for four years together they looked more in love than ever at an event in Hollywood in February.
She might have made a name for herself in Hollywood, but the actress has recently announced that she's going to try her hand at a Bollywood film.

Freida will hit screens in a number of other film projects this year, including Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups and Desert Dancer.
Taking her high-profile position seriously, the star has been supporting a number of charities and is a global ambassador for Plan International's Because I Am A Girl campaign, which deals with sexual violence.
