In the clear: Neither Tom Cruise nor any of his relatives were at the house when SWAT teams arrived Thursday afternoon
The call that alerted police is now believed to be a prank after Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived on the scene and found nothing suspicious.
The action star and his family were not at the mansion when the incident occurred Thursday afternoon.
The only ones home were Cruise's security team and personal chef, all of whom had no idea what was going on when the crew of police and SWAT officers appeared.
Cruise is the latest in a growing group of celebrities to be the victim of 'swatting', where someone prank calls the police department saying that there was a criminal incident in process.
Recently a 12-year-old boy was arrested in relation to similar incidents which occurred at the homes of Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.
Police were called to the 34-year-old 'Two And A Half Men' star and the 18-year-old Canadian popstar's houses, after police received anonymous calls claiming the properties were being robbed and in some cases victims had been taken hostage.
Scene: LAPD officers responded to a prank call saying that shots were fired in Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills mansion only to find out that there was no criminal activity going on and the call had been a hoax
Arrangements are now being made to move him into a more stable foster home.
Though this incident was a hoax, it is not the first time that SWAT teams have descended upon Cruise's neighborhood.
In August 2011, back when the actor was married to Katie Holmes, a burglary was reported on his block and because of the proximity to the multi-millionaire's abode, SWAT teams were called.
