She was nominated for a best actress Oscar and dressed in couture Armani.
But Jessica Chastain's favourite moment of the Academy Awards had nothing to do with the glitz and glamour.

'There was a special moment... while watching Barbra Streisand sing Memories. I looked over at my Grandma and she had tears in her eyes,' wrote Jessica.
'It was wonderful to be there with her, watching her favorite singer perform her favorite song.'
It was her grandmother Marilyn who encouraged the young Jessica's interest in acting, taking her to see a production of Joseph And The Technicolour Dreamcoat when she was seven years old.
She has previously revealed that her grandmother is one of her biggest supporters, and once joked to chatshow host Conan O’Brien that Marilyn is pro showing 'skin, skin, skin'.

But while the 35-year-old was enjoying her night with her supportive grandmother, she admitted in her blog post that the week was 'intense'.
The day before the Oscars Jessica missed the funeral of her estranged father Michael Monasterio, following his death from pneumonia aged 55.
The rock musician was aged just 20 when his daughter was born and played little part in her childhood, with her stepfather raising her as his own.

Jessica made no mention of the death, simply writing: 'The past week has been intense for numerous reasons, but I have finally stuck my head above water.'
She added: 'I feel happy, rested, and so very grateful.'
And Jessica, who missed out on the Best Actress Oscar to Jennifer LAwrence, shared her thanks.
'Thank you to ARMANI for making me feel like Rita Hayworth for a night.
'And thank you to you all, [her fans] for your constant positivity and love. I would not be living this dream without you.'
