But Jessica Chastain's favourite moment of the Academy Awards had nothing to do with the glitz and glamour.
Instead it was taking her grandmother as her date, she revealed in a touching Facebook post.

'It was wonderful to be there with her, watching her favorite singer perform her favorite song.'
It was her grandmother Marilyn who encouraged the young Jessica's interest in acting, taking her to see a production of Joseph And The Technicolour Dreamcoat when she was seven years old.
She has previously revealed that her grandmother is one of her biggest supporters, and once joked to chatshow host Conan O’Brien that Marilyn is pro showing 'skin, skin, skin'.

The day before the Oscars Jessica missed the funeral of her estranged father Michael Monasterio, following his death from pneumonia aged 55.
The rock musician was aged just 20 when his daughter was born and played little part in her childhood, with her stepfather raising her as his own.

She added: 'I feel happy, rested, and so very grateful.'
And Jessica, who missed out on the Best Actress Oscar to Jennifer LAwrence, shared her thanks.
'Thank you to ARMANI for making me feel like Rita Hayworth for a night.
'And thank you to you all, [her fans] for your constant positivity and love. I would not be living this dream without you.'
